Antoinette M. Sayeh, DMD, IMF is currently visiting Bangladesh and on 16 January, 2023, IMF published a press release stating that IMF Executive Board is expected to consider approving USD 4.5bn fund facility program with Bangladesh on January 30, 2023.

Earlier, on November 9, 2022, IMF staff and the Bangladesh authorities reached a staff-level agreement to support Bangladesh’s economic policies with a 42-month arrangement of about USD 4.5bn.

In the discussion between Antoinette M. Sayeh and Bangladesh authorities, they focused on key elements of IMF-Bangladesh fund facility program, including the long-standing challenges of raising tax revenues, and building a more efficient financial sector.
